A new vision for Kings Mall goes on display A display showing the exciting vision for a new £10m plus refurbishment of Kings Mall will be on display at the centre for two weeks from 4th May just prior to the submission of a planning application. The vision is to transform the shopping centre inside and out while also improving the car parking and the efficiency of services for retailers. Senior Asset Manager Lisa Hartley said: “St Martins is mindful of the challenges to the centre presented by increased competition (particularly from Westfield) difficult trading conditions and the need to modernise systems and finishes in the centre. “Our intention is to make significant improvements in the presentation of the centre and tenant mix while also reducing the costs of services being borne by retailers.” Externally it is proposed to improve the prominence and appearance of the entrances, apply new branding, clean and repair the buildings and introduce new lighting. Internally, the mall will be enhanced with a new feature ceiling, general refurbishment, improved lighting and new mall furniture. Toilet facilities and the car park links will also be substantially improved. Subject to planning and final approval the work should take place between October 2010 and October 2011.
