Carols at Warwick Castle a sell out success raising record funds for charities The Carols event at Warwick Castle was a sell out this year proving that the traditional spirit of Christmas is alive and well in the Midlands and beyond. Unlike previous years, virtually all the 2,500 tickets were sold before the evening of the concert and the funds raised for the charities were the highest for the past five years. It is now clear that the event is going from strength to strength as a highlight of the festive calendar. “The faith of the thousands of people who booked early was rewarded with a fantastic night out and the smiles on the faces of people leaving the event showed what a success the night had been,” said organiser Quentin Hayes. “It was the first Carols at Warwick Castle event for the new director of Music at St Mary’s, Thomas Corns, and the choir supported by the Royal Spa Brass produced a wonderful performance ably supported by presenter Annie Othen of BBC Coventry & Warwickshire,” he added The event also worked well for the sponsors. “National Grid is delighted to be able to offer practical support to such a successful event which raises funds for local charities. Congratulations to all involved,” Trish Handsley, Community Relations Officer, National Grid.
