Comic Relief fundraising at Westwood Cross

This year the stores at Westwood Cross shopping centre are pulling out all the stops in aid of Comic Relief. A charity football tournament and sales from t-shirts will raise funds for the event which culminates on Red Nose Day on Friday 16th March.

The 5-a-side football tournament will take place on Sunday 25th March with each team representing a different store. Each participant will be contributing £5 with all proceeds going to Comic Relief. The stores taking part include Barratts, Sports World, Topman, Burton, Boots, Subway, O2, JJB Sports, Select, Blacks, GAME and Marks & Spencer.

To make a contribution and make more than a fashion statement, simply purchase an ‘I LOVE RND’ t-shirt from TK Maxx and help change countless lives. There are shapes and sizes to suit everyone, from the Classic T and Fashion Fit to the teeny tiny baby body suit, and all the profit from the sale of each t-shirt go to Comic Relief.

David Plumb, Centre Manager at Westwood Cross said: “I’m thrilled with Westwood Cross’ efforts to contribute to such a fantastic cause this year. The tournament we held last year was a great success, raising £300 for Children in Need and I’m sure the stores will do us proud again this year.”

Comic Relief is helping to transform the lives of vulnerable people living with poverty and social injustice. 60% of the money raised goes to Africa and 40% stays here in the UK.

Westwood Cross is home to a fantastic range of stores, offering everything from homeware, electronics and the latest fashions to banking and fitness facilities. Open late every weeknight. Visit www.westwoodx.co.uk for more information.
