Concept Mouldings wins prestigious innovation award
Concept Mouldings has won the prestigious Accelerate innovation award at the Supplier Awards 2007 in Birmingham. Also nominated for the small company of the year award, Ian Finney MD of Concept Mouldings Ltd was presented with the award for innovation by Christine Hamilton at the award dinner (November 2) at the ICC in Birmingham. The award was given for the innovative new product the Endura Frontal Protection System (www.endura-fps.com), a vehicle protection device which also has the benefit of reducing the risk of serious injury of vulnerable road users in the event of an accident. Tests have shown that this revolutionary product can actually reduce the risk of injury to children or other vulnerable road users by up to 50 times. Concept Mouldings was chosen for the award from 18 other companies by a panel of judges which included David Bizley, Technical Director for RAC Roadside. Rachael Eade, Accelerate Programme manager, Matt Faultless Divisional team Leader for GKN Off Highway division and Mike Robinson, Jaguar STA engineer. Ian Finney said: “The Award is in recognition of the success of the whole team at Concept Mouldings who are committed to producing a range of products which will make a significant difference to the safety of pedestrians and cyclists on our roads.” Malcolm Harbour, West Midlands MEP, congratulated the Concept Mouldings Team on winning the award: "Concept´s success is a tribute to their tenacity and engagement in working with me, and fellow MEPs, to get new EU rules adopted for frontal protection systems. They now have market access across the EU with a new product range that will help reduce pedestrian casualties, particularly affecting children. This shows how politicians and business leaders can work together to open new opportunities and create benefits for society as a whole"
