Free and discounted school fee

Warwick Preparatory School, Warwick School, King’s High School

As the latest development in one of the most generous school assisted places schemes in the country, many bright children who live in CV34 are being given the exclusive opportunity of a free or discounted independent education at Warwick Preparatory School, Warwick School and King’s High School.

In an unprecedented move, the Warwick Independent Schools Foundation (WISF) has launched a campaign to highlight these new free and discounted places which are available for its 3 schools, for boys and girls from the age of 9 to 18, exclusively for children who live in CV34. This generous support will exist in addition to the extensive range of assisted places that are already available at Warwick School and King’s High School to children from all over the Midlands and beyond.

Andrew Firth, spokesman for WISF said,

“Local educational opportunities for CV34 residents are particularly good across both the state and independent sectors, and our announcement today means that for some children there is the possibility of a fully funded place at one of the regions best independent schools. Help can be provided with annual school fees based on a means test, and there is also assistance with the extras such as uniforms and educational trips. I think people will be very surprised by the high income levels which can still qualify for assistance.”

Each January, applicants will be invited to sit the standard entrance examination (in the case of Warwick School and King’s High School). At age 11, the exam is broadly equivalent to SAT level 4 and above. Children may then be invited for an interview and successful applicants will be offered a place with some level of assistance based on a means test of their family’s income.

WISF already has a range of highly successful assisted places available to children from all areas. Currently, these enable 1 in 4 children at Warwick School, and 1 in 6 children at King’s High to receive some level of financial assistance.

Andrew added, “The announcement of this particularly generous funding available for children who live in CV34 is a further step by the Foundation to strengthen links with the town of Warwick, and is part of our continuing commitment to promote diversity and opportunities to all children by offering them a fantastic education, regardless of their background and family income.”

A new website – www.CV34.com – carries all the information about the application process, including a calculator to assess the amount of financial assistance potentially available based on income. Sample entrance exam papers and application forms are available to download and a comprehensive set of useful frequently asked questions also provide parents with further information.

The success of the schools is based around the excellence of specialist teaching staff and a focus on the all round development of the individual child, ensuring the talents of every boy and girl are nurtured, whether academic, artistic, social or sporting.

Interested parents are invited to join representatives from the schools for an informal chat and refreshments at the Warwick Arms Hotel from 6pm until 9pm on 29th November. People from the schools will be available to answer questions and offer advice. Alternatively, parents can call 01926 776400 or visit www.CV34.com to find out more and to discover whether they can benefit from this unique scheme.
