Growing international focus – inward and outward

UK

In response to growing demand LMMC continues to expand its specialist support services for companies from Central Europe and the Far East who want to market their products in the UK but do not have their own UK base.

Building and supporting a distribution chain and avoiding the pitfalls of entering a new market at arms length needs local support and LMMC is developing the capability to support each phase of market entry and development.

In the early stages LMMC helps companies prepare their offer and select appropriate brokers and agents. The preparation work involves translating and adjusting the focus of marketing materials, advice on labelling and price lists and all the elements which will make products more attractive to the UK market. Subsequently the focus moves on to developing the opportunities with brokers and agents and the selection of appropriate partnering organisations.

As the process develops these relationships are nurtured and supported leading to accelerated success through the creation of appropriate marketing activity which encourages demand for the products based on their unique features or market proposition.

LMMC recognises that each business is different and provides a tailored approach based on the requirement of each company and its brands.

Central Europe

The flip side of our inward development work is the identification of opportunities for UK companies in Central Europe in particular. With a lower cost base and a dynamic, often well educated, younger demographic, many of these countries offer huge opportunities but it is sometimes difficult to know where to start. UK activity with Poland in particular grew by 30 per cent last year, but the UK based businesses still have a disproportionately small share of the opportunity compared with other European countries.
