Warwickshire Independent Schools Foundation - Help is at hand for parents facing the credit crunch
Tighter economic circumstances for families need not mean an end of the opportunity for private school education for children living in Warwick (CV34) who could benefit from a free or discounted education at WarwickPreparatory School, WarwickSchool and King’s High School, three of the most successful independent schools in the country. Andrew Firth, spokesman for WISF said, “In the current economic maelstrom this could be a real lifeline for families living in CV34 whose circumstances may have deteriorated but who want their child to benefit from the outstanding educational opportunities provided at the three schools” It is anticipated that it will be possible to provide up to 18 free or heavily discounted places in the coming year. The reduced fees are calculated by means testing and are available to boys and girls from the age of 9 to 18. In addition to savings on fees there is also financial assistance available to help with extras such as uniforms and educational trips. Parents can learn more about the scheme and view sample exam papers, application forms and a fee calculator at www.CV34.com. Interested parents are invited to meet representatives from the schools to discover more about the opportunities on Thursday 27th November between 6.00pm-9.00pm at the Warwick Arms Hotel. Alternatively, parents can call 01926 776400 or visit www.CV34.com. In January, applicants will be invited to sit the standard entrance examination (in the case of Warwick School and King’s High School). At age 11, successful candidates are expected to be broadly equivalent to the standard of SAT level 4 or above. Children may then be invited for an interview and successful applicants will be offered a place with the level of assistance determined by their family’s income.
