Midlands Software Company is national awards finalist
Midlands based software developers Black Pepper Software Ltd has been named Mobile IT Innovation of the Year award finalists in the BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards. The award is being considered for ‘Companion’, a smartphone application that has gone from strength to strength since launching at the International Confex 2011. Companion is a location-aware mobile application platform for companies who want to enhance the visitor experience at specific venues. With advanced mapping and routing services, combined with easy to use content management and social networking channels, Companion helps users to navigate a specific space, indoors and out in real-time. The application has been implemented at high profile shows such as the BBC Good Food & Gardeners World Live, situated at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), Birmingham. The awards are set to take place on Thursday 10th November 2011 at Battersea Park Events Arena, London. Black Pepper is competing against some of the industries giants, such as Tesco.com and RBS, yet remain confident in the app’s ability to contend. It is great to be recognised for the successful development of Companion, which is set for further progression in 2012.”

The next stage for Black Pepper Ltd is to produce applications for upcoming exhibitions, including; the NCC Motorhome & Caravan show, Top Gear Live, BBC Good Food Show Winter and the Clothes Show Live; enhancing the visitor experience at each show.
