Regent Courts outstanding Christmas footfall figures

Regent Court in Leamington Spa has reported an outstanding Christmas with footfall figures revealing that nearly 30,000 people visited the shopping centre in the week leading up to Christmas.

The independent footfall figures released by Experian Footfall, highlight an impressive 38.4% increase in visitors from the previous year for the week leading up to Christmas and an astonishing 65.3% increase for the first week after Christmas when shoppers took full advantage of the sales, with many shops still offering discounts of up to 70% off.

The Centre’s success is being attributed to a number of factors including an exciting Christmas entertainment schedule, a highly visible marketing campaign and several new retailers.

The Christmas campaign included Regent Courts own Shopping Angels who hit the streets of Leamington each weekend in the run up to Christmas advising and solving shopper’s personal shopping dilemmas. The lively, exciting and festive entertainment every weekend included performances from the choristers of St Mary’s, Warwick, brass bands, dancers and the coolest busker in Warwickshire.

New retailers who joined Regent Court in October and November include Moi the luxurious fashion boutique specialising in casual elegance, Arden’s, the deli-café offering the best in continental bakery and biscuits and Bar Angeli, the stylish café serving fresh coffee and fabulous home baked pastries and cakes to tempt the whole family.

New Centre Manager Adam Talbot is delighted with the results and comments “These figures are very impressive, we certainly have a lot to be proud of and fully intend to build upon our success. It has been a wonderful Christmas and bodes well for a successful 2010”
