Starbucks host family fun day in aid of charity

Starbucks at Regent Court shopping centre Leamington Spa will be hosting a family fun day on Saturday 23rd April to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

The event is held on behalf of Starbucks employee Jon James whose mother; Sue James, was diagnosed with the disease in 2007. Together with his long-time friend Mat Waldron, Jon will be making a 450 mile trip from the London Eye to the Eiffel Tower by Sea Kayak in May to raise money for the charity that has provided invaluable help since her diagnosis.

Starbucks are supporting Jon and Mat’s challenge by hosting the event which will be filled with a variety of activities including; Face painting for children, Treasure Hunt, Coffee Tastings and free samples, Games & competitions, Food Sampling, as well as showing off their brand-new ‘However-You-Want-It Frappuccino’ with demonstrations and samples. All Starbucks staff will be dressed up as sailors and pirates on the day to show their support.

Jonathan Smith, Starbucks Manager said ‘All proceeds will go to the MNDA. We hope this fun event will create more awareness of the disease and that all donations will truly make a difference to the research’.
