Virtual tour offers glimps into the future of the new St. Martin's Quarter

The transformation of the industrial centre of Worcester into a thriving retail, restaurant and leisure destination by developers Carillion Richardson has taken another leap forward with the release of a virtual video tour showing how the development should look upon completion.

The video, created by the St. Martin’s Quarter architects Mountford Pigott, takes the viewer on a journey around the development through the finished pedestrian walkways and open spaces, around shops and restaurants and to the completed ASDA superstore, which is due to be the first element of the new leisure destination to open next spring.

The video comes at a crucial time in the construction with the ASDA nearing completion, other retail units beginning to take shape and the new signage and branding for the St. Martin’s Quarter due to appear over the next few weeks. The tour offers the residents of Worcester a unique opportunity to become familiar with the new destination and its place in the city before all the walls are even built.

Upon completion the site will include 284,050 sq. feet of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities creating many hundreds of jobs and transforming the run-down Lowesmoor area into a shining beacon for the modernisation and beauty of Worcester.

Selwyn Rowley of Carillion Richardson said: “The virtual video tour is an important milestone in the development, offering everyone a glimpse into the future of Worcester city centre and showing how the new St. Martin’s Quarter will be accessed and seen from different points in the city.”
